What is fiber laser cutting?
Fiber laser cutting uses a solid-state laser beam transmitted through optical fiber to cut metal with extreme precision. Faster than CO2 on thin to medium gauge metals, fiber lasers cut reflective metals like aluminum, copper, and brass effectively and produce cleaner edges with a smaller heat-affected zone.

What is nitrogen assist laser cutting?
Nitrogen assist uses high-pressure nitrogen gas instead of oxygen to blow molten material away from the cut zone — resulting in an oxide-free, bright edge on stainless steel and aluminum. Ideal for parts that will be welded, powder coated, plated, or left with a natural finish. MJM uses nitrogen assist on stainless, aluminum, and other materials where edge quality is critical.
Does MJM do AS9100 certified fiber laser cutting?
Yes. MJM Manufacturing is AS9100 certified, ISO 9001 certified, and ITAR registered — making MJM one of the only fiber laser cutting shops in Florida fully qualified for aerospace and defense programs. MJM also holds AWS D17.1 aerospace welding certification with Lockheed Martin program approval.
