Galvanized Steel Laser Cutting
Precision galvanized steel laser cutting — G60, G90, and other coatings. Outdoor, marine, and corrosion-resistant applications. All gauges. Fast turnaround. Miami, Florida.
MJM Manufacturing, Inc. provides precision galvanized steel laser cutting services from its 44,000 sq ft facility in Miami, Florida. Galvanized steel — steel coated with a layer of zinc for corrosion protection — is widely used in outdoor, marine, agricultural, HVAC, and construction applications across South Florida where humidity and salt air accelerate corrosion. MJM’s five Amada fiber laser systems cut G60, G90, and other galvanized coatings across all gauges with proper ventilation and fume control. From flat blanks to complete fabricated assemblies, MJM handles galvanized steel from prototype through production. Quotes in 24–48 hours. Email sales@mjmmfg.com or call (305) 620-2020.

Galvanized Steel Laser Cutting Capabilities
G60 & G90 Galvanized Coatings — All Gauges
MJM cuts G60 (0.60 oz/sq ft zinc coating — lighter duty) and G90 (0.90 oz/sq ft — standard commercial galvanized) across all sheet gauges. G90 is the most common specification for outdoor enclosures, HVAC equipment, agricultural equipment, and South Florida construction applications where corrosion resistance is required without the cost of stainless steel.
Proper Ventilation for Galvanized Steel Cutting
Laser cutting galvanized steel burns off the zinc coating at the cut edge — producing zinc oxide fumes that require proper ventilation and fume extraction. MJM’s facility is equipped with industrial fume extraction systems for galvanized steel processing, ensuring safe working conditions and compliance with OSHA air quality standards. Cut edges will show a bare steel strip at the cut line — standard for laser-cut galvanized steel.
Why Galvanized Steel Is Essential in South Florida
South Florida’s combination of high humidity, salt air, and heat creates one of the most corrosive environments in the continental United States. Galvanized steel provides cost-effective corrosion protection for outdoor enclosures, electrical boxes, HVAC components, marine equipment, and construction hardware — lasting significantly longer than bare carbon steel in Florida’s coastal climate.

Galvanized Steel Laser Cutting — FAQ
Who does galvanized steel laser cutting in Miami?
MJM Manufacturing, Inc. provides galvanized steel laser cutting from its Miami, Florida facility at 5205 NW 161 Street. MJM cuts G60, G90, and other galvanized coatings across all gauges for outdoor, marine, HVAC, and OEM applications throughout South Florida. Call (305) 620-2020 or email sales@mjmmfg.com.
What happens to the zinc coating when galvanized steel is laser cut?
The zinc coating burns off at the cut edge, leaving a narrow strip of bare steel at the laser cut line. The surrounding zinc coating remains intact on the rest of the sheet. For most structural and outdoor applications this is acceptable. Cut edges can be touched up with cold galvanizing compound or zinc-rich paint if maximum corrosion protection at the edge is required.
Can MJM form and weld galvanized steel after laser cutting?
Yes. MJM can form galvanized steel on CNC press brakes after laser cutting. Welding galvanized steel requires special precautions due to zinc fume hazards — MJM’s welding department handles galvanized steel with proper ventilation and certified welders trained on galvanized applications. All fabrication in-house in Miami.
