Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
What does precision actually mean in numbers?
Plus or minus 0.005 inch on laser cut and CNC punched features. Plus or minus 0.010 inch on formed flange dimensions. Plus or minus 0.5 degree on bend angle. Those are the tolerances we hold in production, and we publish a full tolerance table rather than saying tight tolerances and leaving you to guess.
What materials do you fabricate?
Cold rolled and hot rolled steel, stainless, aluminum, copper, brass, beryllium copper, titanium, galvanized and galvanneal. Thickness runs to 1 inch on mild and hot rolled steel, 0.625 inch on stainless and aluminum, and 0.375 inch on copper and brass.
Do you do everything in house?
Laser cutting, CNC punching, forming, rolling, welding, machining, hardware insertion, deburring, sand blasting, laser marking, 3D printing, inspection and assembly are all under one roof in 44,000 sq ft. Powder coating, anodizing, plating and silkscreen go to qualified finishing partners, and we manage that leg of the job so you are dealing with one purchase order and one company that owns the result.
What certifications do you hold?
AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality systems, MIL-I-45208A, ITAR registration, DFARS compliance, SAM.gov registration with CAGE code 0YLX1, AWS D1.1, D1.2, D9.1M and D17.1 welding certifications, and Lloyd’s Register approval, among others. Seventeen in total. Certificates are on our certifications page and we will send copies with a supplier qualification package.
What is your quote turnaround?
24 to 48 hours on most quotes. Send a STEP file or a drawing to sales@mjmmfg.com. Every drawing gets a free manufacturability review, so you find out before you order whether a feature is going to cost you money for no functional reason.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
No. One piece to thousands. Per-piece cost drops with quantity because setup and programming spread across more parts, but nothing stops you ordering a single prototype and coming back for production on the same tooling-free process.
Where are you located and do you ship nationwide?
We are at 5205 NW 161 Street, Miami Gardens, FL 33014, and we ship across the United States. Over 600 customers, in OEM, industrial equipment, data center, medical device, robotics, energy, transportation and marine, order from here regardless of where they are.
How long have you been in business?
Since 1979. Family owned, founded by Mike Mijares, still run by the family, with 80 plus employees. That matters mostly because 47 years of doing this means the manufacturability review you get on your drawing is based on parts we have actually built, not on a checklist.
